Sibongile Mlambo was born on 25 June 1990 in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, alongside a twin brother, Bongani, who now works as a producer and cinematographer. She started acting as a child, appearing in the film Kini & Adams at age six, before moving to the US in 2005 and studying at Southern Methodist University.
Since then she's built a solid US television career: a recurring role as Eme on Starz's pirate drama Black Sails, Tamora Monroe on MTV's Teen Wolf, Angela Goddard on Netflix's Lost in Space reboot, and Donna on Freeform's Siren, a role that made her one of the first Black actresses to play a mermaid on American TV. From there she moved through Roswell, New Mexico and The Blacklist, then landed a full-series role as Clara, a motel owner's wife with a clearer view of the state's darker side, in Netflix's 2023 limited series Florida Man. Most recently, Starz brought her onto Power Book III: Raising Kanan for its 2024 fourth season as Imani Okoye, a sharp, business-minded executive at a boutique record label.
